Recruitment & Retention Director
Vice President – Corporate HR & OD

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Recruitment & Retention Director is responsible for planning, developing and implementing the Company's employment, placement, and transfer procedures to ensure adequate supply and flow of staff to meet current and future personnel requirements. He/She will manage recruitment and job placement activities of the organization by sourcing, screening, interviewing, and negotiating employment offers on behalf of the organization. Administer and evaluate behavioral interviews, personality assessments, background investigations and professional/business references for key positions. He/She will supervise and coordinate all recruitment activities, ensuring maximum availability of appropriate skills throughout the group with a view of keeping employee turnover to the minimum.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop strategic recruitment plans based on approved manpower plan to ensure that the Staffing function can support continued corporate growth.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate the organization's policies and procedures on recruitment, testing, selection and job placement.
  • Project annual recruitment expenditures for budgetary controls.
  • Coordinate with Manpower Planning department to develop appropriate recruitment strategies including preparation and implementation of recruitment programs.
  • Supervise special employment programs, temporary hiring, and part-time hiring and control the efficient utilization of surplus work force.
  • Develop and coordinate staffing programs including external sourcing, employee referral, advertising, open house, job fairs and others that may be appropriate.
  • Manage internal searches throughout the company to fill open managerial and professional positions as a preferred talent source. Prepare brochures, pamphlets and publication on website describing employment opportunities within the organization.
  • Direct the contacts with recruitment agencies and the placement of advertisements locally and overseas, as per recruitment program.
  • Arranges for inter-department transfers and promotions, including posting all job openings.
  • Ensure pre-screening of applications, conducting interviews of qualified applicants, administering testing programs, checking references and background, and evaluating applicant qualifications.
  • Refer qualified applicants to requesting department heads for interview on job specifications.
  • Establish systems to provide information on company facilities and job opportunities to potential candidates.
  • Develop processes to correspond with job applicants to notify them of employment consideration.
  • Ensure that employment records are maintained for future references.
  • Organize travel and lodging for selected management overseas applicants at company expense during the initial interview process in the country.
  • Maintain records and prepare statistical reports concerning recruitment, interviews, hires, transfers, promotions and separations based on pre-agreed KPI's covering productivity and quality of recruitment.
  • Analyse statistical reports and other relevant data using knowledge of job requirements, valid selection processes and legislation concerning equal employment practices, in order to identify and determine causes of problems or inefficiencies in the employment process.
  • Attend overseas interviews of applicants to key managerial positions abroad organized through reputable recruitment agencies.
  • Oversee the proper administration of various employment-related functions such as orientation programs and community relations.
  • Interview employee prior to completion of probation period and coordinate with department head the confirmation of employment.
  • Conduct interview with employee after six (6) months and submit report on outcome of the Employee Satisfaction Interview to Vice President – Corporate HR & OD.
  • Conduct interview with hiring department head after six (6) months and submit report on outcome of Client Satisfaction Interview to Vice President – Corporate HR & OD
  • Update Vice President – Corporate HR & OD weekly and submit appropriate monthly, quarterly and annual reports covering agreed milestones and measurable KPI's.

Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required.

Education and Experience: BA / BS in Business or equivalent. HR certification and formal training on interviewing and selection are pre-requisites. Certification in psychometrics and occupational testing is mandatory. Experience in a similar function is required with at least 5 years at senior level.

Computer Skills: Strong computer skills required; i.e., MS Office, Excel, and Power point. Must have multi-systems experience with extended database and worksheet knowledge. Familiarization and working knowledge with at least one recruitment database and candidate tracking software are essential.

Communication Skills: Must be able to interact with all levels of management, and must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English is a must. Arabic will be an asset.

Compensation Package: KD 1800 – 2250 per month (inclusive of housing & transport allowances) plus annual bonus linked to measurable objectives. Benefits as per company policy.
